SAN ANTONIO  — A San Antonio suburb has released audio and video of a university police officer’s fatal shooting of a student.

The Alamo Heights Police department released the recordings Thursday of the police shooting death of Cameron Redus.

Chris Carter, who eventually resigned from the University of Incarnate Word police force after the shooting, was cleared Wednesday by a Bexar County grand jury.

The audio shows Carter giving an inaccurate location for the December 2013 confrontation, delaying any backup response.

It also shows Carter repeatedly ordering Redus to put his hands behind his back and stop resisting and threatened to shoot him.

Finally, the audio captures Carter firing six gunshots at Redus, then calling for an ambulance. Redus’ family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Carter.
