Another former basic training instructor is in the brig after being court-martialed at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland Thursday.
Staff Sgt. Christopher Jackson will spend 100 days in the brig and 30 days doing hard labor. Jackson is the sixth instructor to be court-martialed in the still-growing sex scandal at Lackland.
Jackson was found guilty of having sexual relationships with two trainees, and of obstructing justice by asking one of them to lie to investigators.
Both women testified that they initiated the relationships and called Jackson a good training instructor. The government called Jackson a "bad airman," and argued for a bad conduct discharge to "get him out of our Air Force."
Lt. Col Mark Hoover of the JAG office said the training rules exist for a reason.
The investigation of the sex scandal at the nation’s Air Force training facility is still growing, with 30 instructors now suspected in cases involving 56 students.
