The Air Force Office of Special Investigations said it has arrested two people in a conspiracy to steal and resell military equipment.
The OSI doesn’t describe the stolen property, or which branch of Joint Base San Antonio the equipment came from, but Joint Base Spokesman Brent Boller said seven federal search warrants were executed at a San Antonio tattoo parlor Tuesday afternoon.
“The joint OSI and Bexar County Sheriff’s Office investigation revealed that two active-duty Air Force airmen conspired to steal tactical military equipment from base warehouse storage facilities and sell the property off-base to unaffiliated civilians for personal monetary gain,” said Boller.
The OSI said the materials stolen do not pose any danger to the community.
Boller said the joint investigation between the military and the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department resulted in the arrest of two airmen and the seizure of some of the government property and narcotics.
