UTSA Reaches Capital Campaign Goal Two Years Early

University of Texas at San Antonio

The University of Texas at San Antonio is quickly becoming a Tier-One research school and the university credits the support of the San Antonio community for speeding up the process.

UTSA received $5 million in pledges to match the H-E-B Faculty Research Fund gift, which supports the recruitment and retention of leading scholars and researchers.
"One of the greatest areas of focus has been on endowments and scholarships," said UTSA Spokesman Joe Izbrand. "Endowments for our professors so that we can recruit top faculty and keep them at the university, and scholarships so that we can likewise recruit top students to come and work side-by-side with world-class faculty."

Among the endowed positions is a $2 million distinguished university chair for research in medicinal, chemical and drug discovery. Other endowments include dean’s chairs in the College of Liberal and Fine Arts and the College of Business.
