Gas Prices in San Antonio Lower than Texas Average

Drivers looking for a bargain will want to buy gas in San Antonio this week. AAA reports that prices fell a nickel per gallon in the Alamo City, more than the decrease statewide. A gallon of gas is averaging $3.46 in San Antonio, comparing to the national average of $3.74 per gallon and the statewide average of $3.51.

AAAA spokesmen said prices are beginning to stabilize all over the country, after shooting up to some of the highest prices on record. Fall also brings lower prices at the pump because winter production costs are lower for refineries.

San Antonio drivers were paying $3.29 a gallon a year ago. Gasbuddy.com, a website and app that displays gas prices found by other drivers, shows the lowest prices in the area at Bucee’s in New Braunfels, followed by Sam’s and Costco on IH-35.
