Looking For Fun Things To This Weekend? Here They Are.

Here is a snapshot of just a few of the events in San Antonio and beyond. First let’s stop at the Carver Cultural Center where Teresa Vasquez Romero tells us about Saturday’s concert by Vusi Mahlasela.

“He is a South African singer/songwriter and musician and he’s often held as the voice of South Africa. He always has universal messages of freedom and human kindness. He’s actually played with many well-known musicians such as the Dave Matthews Band, Sting, Josh Groban.”

That’s on Saturday night. From there we head out to Boerne for something called the Mostly Native Plant Sale.

“It’s basically a big celebration of Native plants.”

That's the Cibolo Nature Center’s Cheyenne Johnson.

“We have over 18 vendors from all over the region bringing everything from Native Plants to backyard goods. Just things to get you outside and get your hands in the dirt.”

The Mostly Native Plant Sale is at the Kendall County Fairgrounds on Highway 46 East.

“We’ll have food trucks like Latin Fusion out there.”

From Boerne, head north all the way to Llano for something called the Llano Fiddle Fest.

“The Llano Fiddle Fest is a three-day festival and it centers around Texas Fiddling.”

That's event organizer John Caballero.

"We’re all about preserving the Texas fiddle, and keeping it alive and well in Texas.”

There are events on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. "Where is it?" I asked.

“Multiple locations but mainly Saturday is the contest and the concert, and that’s happening at the LanTex Theater.”

“You got any bluebonnets out that way?”

“The Wildflowers are spectacular!”

That’s a snapshot of what’s going on this weekend; get out and enjoy. We’ve details the Carver concert here. Details on the Mostly Native Plant Sale are here. For more on Llano's Fiddle Fest, go here
