The Lower Colorado River Authority plans to open multiple floodgates on Thursday following severe flooding in the Texas Hill Country.
At 12:07 p.m., the LCRA said floodgates at the Wirtz Dam and Starcke Dam would open later in the day.
"Flows will be fast and water levels will be higher than usual downstream of the dams. Take action to protect people and property," the agency said.
The LCRA cautioned residents that the situation is dynamic and may change as the rain continues or water flow fluctuates.
The agency also urged people to take precautionary measures, avoid unnecessary travel and avoid flooded roadways if traveling.
