The City of Kerrville says it has seen an increase in illegal dumping around flood debris piles

The city and Kerr County say dumping household waste and trash with flood debris complicates ongoing county-wide cleanup efforts.

Dumping is officially classified as a public nuisance–a class c misdemeanor.

Individuals caught dumping illegally face fines ranging from $ 200 to $2,000 and may be liable for all cleanup costs.

As of the end of August, more than 830,441 cubic yards of vegetative storm debris has been collected by state and local partners.
