The City of Kerrville declared on Monday a water supply emergency for the city’s water system.
City officials say this is due to the continuing inoperable status of Kerrville’s water treatment plant following the flooding to Nimitz Lake and its impact on intake equipment.
Stage 4 water conservation efforts went into effect at midnight. Automatic and hose-end sprinklers and soaker hoses are prohibited at all times of the day.
The city will continue to rely on groundwater wells to meet current water usage demands while plant repairs are ongoing.
