Kerrville area residents still stunned by scale of devastation

Nearly two weeks after the devastating Hill Country floods, some residents are left dealing with new devastation after more rain this week.

Trees lay flat and debris lingered throughout dead trees along the Guadalupe River in Kerrville this week.

Some residents of the area, like Virginia Mann, 71, said it's unlike any devastation they've seen in the area before.

"Nothing like this," she said. "I mean, big 18 wheelers can be buried in [the piles of debris]. I mean, they are digging out and finding big trucks underneath there."

She lives about 17 miles from Kerrville, and she visited the town on Wednesday to collect supplies after her driveway was washed away in more rainfall this week.

Hundreds of law enforcement officials remain in Central Texas to search for missing people.

The organizations working together to help the flood victims said that the best way to help is with monetary donations.
