Pregnant migrants often lack basic prenatal care

Like many cities, Chicago is struggling to offer basic services to the more than 19,000 migrants who have arrived there since August 2022. The city doesn’t have specific protocols related to women who arrive pregnant. And many migrant women are not getting adequate prenatal care.
