Labor Department Released Inaccurate Reports On Weekly Unemployment Claims, Watchdog Finds

The Government Accountability Office says the Labor Department inaccurately reported the number of people who filed for federal unemployment claims in its weekly report since the pandemic began. The watchdog agency also found millions of workers who qualify for benefits under a special coronavirus relief program are being underpaid.
