Salinas School District In California Faces Digital, Economic Divide During Remote Learning

Host Tonya Mosley checks in with Salinas City Elementary School District in California on their efforts to close the digital divide to ensure the success of remote learning.

The district became the center of media attention at the beginning of the school year when images of two students using Taco Bell’s wifi went viral. Up to 16 million students lack adequate internet connection nationwide, according to an analysis by Common Sense Media and the Boston Consulting Group.
