Castle Hills voters rejected efforts to eliminate VIA bus service in their community.

Castle Hills voters have opted, 60-40 percent, to keep VIA bus service.  At issue was whether to continue dedicating $500,000 generated by a half-cent sales tax for mass transit, or use the money for other development needs.

Judson ISD

Voters in the Judson Independent School District approved three of four proposed bond issues that will provide money for $214 million in building and technology upgrades; two new elementary schools; and the retirement of corporate debt.  Voters narrowly defeated a fourth bond issue for $51.7 million that would have been used for the second phase of construction at MACKEY HIGH SCHOOL.

Texas House District 120

In Texas House District 120, no candidate had a majority of votes in the race to fill the East Side seat of retired state Rep. Ruth Jones McClendon through the end of this year.  First-place finisher, independent Laura Thompson, and Democrat Lou Miller, who finished second, advance to a runoff race this summer.
