Gov. Rick Perry and his wife are spending the next ten days overseas as part of an economic and water development effort in London and Israel.
The trip is being funded by Americans for Economic Freedom, the group promoting Perry’s national profile for a possible presidential run.
"The UK is Texas’ twelfth largest export destination in 2012 -- a little over $4 billion in Texas exports going over there," said Josh Havens from the governor's press office. "There’s always been a very close net relationship between Texas and the UK and that’s why we are taking our economic development mission across the sea."
Perry has also been asked to speak at the Water Technology and Environmental Control Exhibition and Conference in Israel.
