"Night" Is A Bold And Beautiful New Recording

Mixing genres in music can be easily compared to cooking, or baking. But none of them are easy tasks. While Simone Dinnerstein and Tift Merritt make it sound (and even look) effortless, their journey together wasn't easy. Night, their collaboration out now on Sony Classical, is delicious.

TPR's John Clare caught up with Dinnerstein to talk about mixing folk and classical, creating variations on Leonard Cohen, and the idea of "classical covers." Clare recommends listening to Night and Dreams as well as Colors to get a flavor of the new album.
