If you find yourself in the back of an ambulance, the last thing you want to think about is whether the hospital is in your network of providers and covered by your insurance. Emergency departments are often times staffed by out of network doctors despite being in an "in-network" hospital. That means you are going to get a lot of different bills from a lot of different places.
