Bexar county has some of the worst infant mortality rates in the state. The state is only slightly better than the U.S. average, but we are worse than more than 20 other countries in the world.

"For all the money, we put in more than any other country yet our outcomes are frankly pitiful," says Dr. Alexander Kenton a Neonatologist for Methodist Children's hospital.

The city along with other health stakeholders has relaunched its Fetal Infant Mortality Review Board today to address this isssue.

Guests:

  • Kori Eberle, program manager with Healthy Start at the City of San Antonio's Metropolitan Health District
  • Dr. Alexander Kenton, Neonatologist, and manager of NICUs for Methodist Children's Hospital.
