Sylvester Perez began a new job as Superintendent of Edgewood Independent School District Wednesday.  The Texas Education Agency appointed Perez and replaced the seven elected School board members with five appointed board members. The district has suffered from a deadlocked School Board that failed to appoint a new superintendent, which trickled down to the school level with two schools lacking principals.

Perez resigned nearly a year ago as Superintendent of SAISD to care for his ailing father who would pass away in September 2015.

What are his goals for the embattled district?
