Does Texas have too many statewide elected offices and are those offices wasting tax dollars?
If you asked San Antonio State Representative Lyle Larson he’ll say “yes.”
Speaking Monday on TPR's The Source - the Republican from District 122 proposed that Texas ditch the three railroad commissioners, the land commissioner and the agriculture commissioner – and move to a Governor cabinet form of government.
Larson said his plan is not motivated by problems with the people now holding these offices – although on-going controversies surrounding Land Commissioner George P. Bush and Agriculture Commission Sid Miller could fuel serious talk of doing away with their offices.
