City of San Antonio

The birth rate to teens aged 15-19 in Bexar County is 46 percent lower than it was in 2000, but it was still 51 percent higher than the national average in 2013. Last year there were 2,558 births a decline from the year before. Each year the area's numbers slowly are chipped away at through programs and services like Project Worth.

Project Worth is a program that collaborates with the health department. It uses a peer to peer model of engagement to educate area teens to the realities of parenthood and sexuality.

What is the program doing to bring these numbers down further? What services are shown to be most effective in bringing down this number?
