From The Sunday Times of London and The Times-Picayune, New Orleans, to Time magazine and CNN, Walter Isaacson reported and edited stories on people, a skill he would need when he began his life as a biographer.
Albert Einstein, Ben Franklin and Steve Jobs were the subjects of his tomes. Isaacson's book about Jobs, "Steve Jobs: A Life," shattered records for first day sales; the book came out shortly after the Apple founder's death.
For the past 11 years, Isaacson has been leading the nonpartisan Aspen Institute and shepherding their annual "Ideas Festival," which draws some of the leading citizens, leaders and thinkers together to talk big ideas. Supreme Court justices and former presidents have all made their way to the event.
Isaacson is speaking tonight, March 26, at Trinity University for the Flora Cameron Lecture on Politics and Public Affairs at 7:30 p.m in Laurie Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
