Many Christians in San Antonio are gathering in places of worship today.
University United Methodist Church on the city's north side opened its sanctuary for the community to pray for the nation this election day.
"The Lord’s lord and that’s not really on the ballot," commented UUMC Lead Pastor Ben Trammell. "And it can be easy to forget that when the focus is so heavily on how people are different, how we disagree, what’s wrong, what’s broken. And those things are extensive. But there’s a lot of good, too. It’s really easy to believe otherwise when the message is so thick on the other side."
"God needs to hear our prayer and He will if we pray," said UUMC member Nancy Burdine. "No matter what happens, I know he’s in charge and he will use whomever is elected. And I just need to be faithful and pray for that person."
Pastor Trammel said they had the most traffic in the sanctuary this morning, with people coming to pray before they headed to the polls to vote.
