Texas Public Radio (TPR) is hosting a free community screening of the award-winning documentary film "Bag It!" on Tuesday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. The screening will take place at the LOL Comedy Club, located in the Park North Entertainment Complex at Loop 410 and Blanco Road.
"Bag It!" follows 'everyman' Jeb Berrier as he tries to make sense of his dependence on plastic bags. Although his quest starts out small, Jeb soon learns that the problem extends past landfills to oceans, rivers and ultimately human health. Following the film, Texas Public Radio’s Nathan Cone will moderate a brief discussion on plastic use in San Antonio and how you can take steps to reduce your own eco-footprint.
Confirmed panelists include:
- Dr. Richard Reed, Trinity University Environmental Studies Program
- Reed Williams, San Antonio City Council, District 8
- Loretta Van Coppenolle, Member of San Antonio's Citizens Environmental Action Committee
This free, open-to-the-public screening of "Bag It!" is a community initiative of Texas Public Radio and is part of TPR’s commitment to raising awareness about sustainability issues that impact San Antonio and the surrounding community.
Admission is free; however, reservations are required. Reservations can be made at http://tprbagit.bpt.me or by calling (800) 622-8977 during business hours. Full details about this film screening and subsequent community conversation can be found at tpr.org.
