San Antonio and Leon Valley's portion of State Highway 16 – better known as the Bandera Road corridor – is a problem area for drivers. 

A particular stretch of Bandera Road between I-410 and Loop 1604 is the eighth most congested road in the region, ranked within the top 70 most congested in the state according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

It's been about a decade since the Texas A&M University system established a stand-alone campus in San Antonio. Now, the City is ready to draft goals for growth in the area.

Early voting begins today for local, May 9, elections. Following is the fourth profile of leading candidates in the 14-person race for San Antonio mayor. (Watch the video with candidate Ivy Taylor below.)

In the kitchen of her historic East Side home, San Antonio Mayor Ivy Taylor samples the chicken salad she’s fixing for her daughter. Something about the taste isn’t quite right.

“Maybe I put too much pickle relish in it,” she says to 11-year old Morgan.

“It needs sugar,” her daughter suggests.
