From Those Who Follow the Echoes, a local choir, performs an interpretation of the city's history and future at the San Antonio Museum of Art on March 13

For San Antonio-area creatives, curators and art enthusiasts, March is a time to celebrate the city's contemporary art scene.

Events are featured on a public calendar by Contemporary Art Month, a local non-profit. The group's purpose is to support San Antonio's creative culture by compiling details about artistic showcases and sponsoring education events.

The annual "Perennial” exhibition, for example, invites a curator from outside of San Antonio to present a gallery show highlighting the work of local contemporary artists.

What arts-centric opportunities are available for little to no cost over spring break in San Antonio? How is the city's Tricentennial anniversary being celebrated through Contemporary Art Month this year?
