Tea Party Takes On Border Security

Texas tea party leaders are calling on Gov. Rick Perry to call a special session of the Legislature to deal with security on the southern border. And declare that Texas is being invaded.

The group released what they call a guiding document for future political action that they say will address the threat to the nation’s economy, security and health caused by illegal immigration.

George Rodriguez is the South Texas coordinator for the tea party. He helped develop a document released Thursday called “Texas Border Crisis Action Plan, A plan to secure the border with Mexico and Protect the Health, Safety and Economy of the State of Texas.”

"The border that we want at this point is going to have to have walls, it's got the military, it's got all sorts of barriers to people entering illegally into the United States. There is a legal process by which people can enter the United States. You can't get into a Spurs' game or Mavericks' game without buying a ticket. Why is it any different in the United States?"
