You May Want To Avoid I-35 And Loop 410 This Weekend

A major construction project will require a complete closure of I-35 in northeast San Antonio this weekend.Beginning this Friday at 9 p.m., the Texas Department of Transportation will close the main lanes in both directions of I-35 between Rittiman and George Beach while crews demolish the old connector to Loop 410 south.  I-35 will remain closed until early Monday.However…there will be a small window this weekend when the highway will re-open:  Saturday from 6 to 11 p.m., I-35 will open to accommodate traffic heading to the Spurs game.  After 11 p.m. Saturday, I-35 will once again close…and will reopen to traffic by Monday at 5 a.m.
