Susan Richardson taught public school for 17 years. She retired under duress this summer.
She fought the administration of her district which she said was trying to pass some teacher-unfriendly reforms. After trying to organize, she was met with reprisals: spot checks, increased walk ins for her class, and students being pulled into the prinicipal's office to talk about her.
The situation left her dejected, and in poor health.
She had to make a decision, and it was the last one she wanted to.
