Worth Repeating: My New Normal (Virtual Event)

On May 5, 2020 TPR’s popular storytelling event went virtual, for the very first time, exploring the topic of the moment, “Worth Repeating: My New Normal.” Life is upside down right now and it’s supposed to be the New Normal. We’re keeping our distance, we’re video conferencing, we’re working from home and, for some reason, we’re hoarding toilet paper.

It’s serious – job losses, food insecurity, missed milestones, and – worse – hospitals and health professionals on overload. But, sometimes, the New Normal brings out the best in us – checking-in on our neighbors, expressing gratitude to the essential workers on the frontlines and choreographing the stupidest, but joyous, dance routines for TikTok. While we miss the human touch, is the New Normal teaching us new ways for human connection? The truth is: Life will never be the same. For better and for worst, this is our New Normal.
