Joint Base San Antonio's Camp Bullis saw some unusual activity Thursday morning.
The northwest side of the post was placed on lockdown at 7:40 a.m, when base security forces responded to a report of criminal activity.
“There was a verbal altercation between a civilian who was authorized to be on the installation and some service members,” said Rob Strain, a public affairs specialist with the 502nd Air Base Wing, which provides installation support to JBSA. “During this altercation, a weapon was brandished, allegedly.”
Strain would not comment on the type of weapon involved in the altercation.
The lockdown was lifted at 9:15 a.m., after a suspect was taken into custody. No injuries were reported.
Agents from the FBI and the Air Force Office of Special Investigations are looking further into what happened, according to Strain.
