Saturday is an election day for a lot of area school districts and communities. A small turnout is expected to decide some pretty significant issues.

In Castle Hills voters will decide whether to keep VIA bus service, or whether to use the $500,000 generated by a half-cent sales tax on other needs.

Property owners living in the Judson school district will decide whether to approve the sale of up to $266 million in bonds to upgrade technology and facilities, to build new schools, and eliminate old bond debt.  A homeowner with property appraised at $200,000 would pay up to $140 more in taxes a year.

In Texas House District 120, voters will choose among four candidates to fill retired state Rep. Ruth Jones McClendon’s vacant seat through the end of this year.
