A major highway closure is taking place this weekend in San Antonio. TxDOT will close the main lanes of I-10 in both directions at Fair Oaks Parkway beginning at 5 a.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday.
In order to keep traffic flowing as smoothly as possible, TxDOT has created some two-lane exit ramps to the access roads.
“What we’re actually going to do is convert this small section from the temporary ramp, up to Fair Oaks Parkway,” said TxDOT engineer Joe Mendez. “We’re going to make sure that traffic is only traveling in one direction.”
The closure is necessary in order for crews to set bridge support beams.
The Fair Oaks Parkway Bridge will also be closed.
