Think Health Science: Preparing For Zika In Texas

On Thursday, Aug. 25, 2106, more than a hundred Texas Public Radio listeners gathered at the U.T. Health Science Center in San Antonio for a public education event called “Think Health Science: Zika.” Our expert panel included Dr. Patrick Ramsey, Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist with UTHSC, Dr. Anil Mangla, Assistant Director of Communicable Diseases with Metro Health, and Dr. Jason Bowling, Assistant Professor of Infectious Diseases at UTHSC. Listen to their perspective about preparations for Zika in South Texas. Texas Public Radio News Director Shelley Kofler was the moderator.

Also at our August forum on Zika, members of the audience were encouraged to participate in a lively question and answer session moderated by Bioscience-Medicine reporter Wendy Rigby. Listen in to learn what other community members are asking and how the experts responded. When it comes to fighting an emerging infectious disease, knowledge is power.
