From Texas Standard:

With Texas' rapidly changing demographics, many have come to the personal conclusion that it's simply insufficient to be fluent in one language alone.

But for some English speakers, let's face it — Spanish language fluency is probably not in the cards. You know who you are.

Well you're in luck. Commentator and lifelong Texan W.F. Strong says this one's for you.

"We gringos do not need a huge vocabulary or a perfect pronunciation — we just need to try," he says.

"If you try, the Hispanic world will open up to you. They will say salucita, and they will welcome you with abrazotes big hugs."
