The Source: Your Grandparents' Trauma On Your DNA

Can a traumatic event that happened to one of your grandparents be impacting you today, causing you anxiety - addiction - phobias - panic disorders?

Even if you never met your grandparents there is still a link which can pass through generations and causing the effects of trauma being felt today. The latest research calls it epigenetics. While epigenetics sounds too fantastic to believe, it's been proven with observations in people and in experiments with lab rats. This field of genetics looks at how environmental and other external factors affect genes and their behaviour.But there remain many unanswered questions about how it works and the strength of the effect on individuals.

How these genetic memories are passed down to future generations appear to be an evolutionary advantage but for some people epigenetics could be making them miserable.
