The Source: What's Next For Bexar County, With New DA Set To Take Over?

Paul Flahive, Texas Public Radio

Nicolas 'Nico' LaHood will be only the second Bexar County District Attorney in the 21st century. After beating Susan Reed--Bexar County's first female DA and 16-year veteran of the office-- in November he changed the political stripe of the office.

When he is confirmed later this week, we will see how he changes the focus of one of the busiest District Attorney's offices in the state.

His predecessor was known for her 'Tough on Crime' approach to law enforcement. One of Reed's more controversial stances were on blood draws from people who refused breathalyzer tests.

As LaHood prepares to take the office, will we see more support for diversion programs? The District Attorney-Elect ran on a platform of cracking down on child abusers, what will that entail?
