The Source: Microphones Identifying Gunshots. Right For San Antonio?

Gun crime across the country is up, breaking a two decade reduction in violent crime. A technology aimed at shortening response times to gunshots, as well as take human reporting out of the equation, is taking off in some American cities.

The technology is called ShotSpotter and it relies on publicly placed microphones throughout a neighborhood to triangulate the location of a gunshot in real time, before it alerts police to the scene.

They say it can put police within 30' of a gunshot, and cities like Washington D.C. and Chicago are taking advantage. What about San Antonio?
