Civic engagement, there are many ways for residents to plug into their local government.
There's voting - the last mayoral election had a whopping 14 percent turnout.
But there's also volunteering - and showing up for meetings and getting informed.
It can be a lot of work to be engaged in the business of your community.But if you don't do it - what happens - do you get the leaders and the policies you want?
