The investigation of the fatal shooting of Gilbert Flores by Bexar County sheriff’s deputies is now in the hands of the District Attorney’s Office.

The Bexar County District Attorney’s Office received the majority of the investigation from the sheriff’s office of the deputy-involved shooting that occurred last month on Walnut Pass.  Upon receiving the case, the DA’s Office is now tasked with conducting its own review of the evidence.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that the video that was sent to the DPS for analysis has been returned and confirms that Flores had a knife in his hand when he was shot.  Officials indicate they have no plans to release the second video or any other evidence until the case is resolved.

In a written statement the DA’s Office said it does not have an exact timeline for the completion of the review, but will be working diligently on the case.

They are still awaiting the results of expert forensic analysis from agencies working with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.  This analysis and any follow-up investigation or analysis can take several months.
