Series: Preparing For Zika In Texas

Wendy Rigby
/
Texas Public Radio
Texas Public Radio produced a series of reports to inform listeners about the threat of Zika and what doctors, health authorities and researchers were doing to combat the threat.

The threat of the Zika virus dominated the news for much of 2016. The story is important to South Texans who live in a subtropical climate and in close proximity to Mexico, putting the community at greater risk of contracting the disease.

In a series of reports, Texas Public Radio's Wendy Rigby examines developments from San Antonio to Brownsville, where health authorities reported the first cases of Zika acquired from local mosquitoes.
