The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People has a long history of working to influence civil rights issues in the United States.

The group advocates in various cause areas, including civic engagement, criminal justice, economic opportunity, education, health, as well as environmental and climate justice.

San Antono's NAACP chapter is marking its centennial this year, as the city plays host to the organization's national convention July 14-18.

What has the San Antonio branch accomplished in 100 years and what efforts are underway for the future?

How have race relations changed in San Antonio over the past century? In what ways has the city progressed and what still needs improving? What issues are most important to black and minority residents today?
