Traveling makes us vulnerable. We sometimes don't speak the language. We don't know how much things should cost. And, most importantly, we are subject to other people's timelines: the airline, the train, the cab driver, the hotel's check-in. When we travel, it's other people's world and we are just living in it.
Sometimes that works out, everything goes to plan and we are no worse for wear.
Sometimes, as in Leroy Adams story, it doesn't.
And where we finally find repreive from our vulnerabilities can be a surprise.
