A recent string of dog attacks has made animal-related injuries a public safety issue for many in San Antonio.
There have been at least 15 cases of bodily injury filed so far this fiscal year with the City's Animal Care Services department and officials say that irresponsible pet ownership is to blame.

The newly approved city budget for the 2019 fiscal year allocates over $400,000 to Animal Care Services. The additional funding will allow ACS to add staff, including a new position addressing animal negligence and the illegal sale of puppies.
