San Antonio City Hall and most municipal offices will close on Labor Day.

Recycling, organics recycling and garbage will be collected as scheduled, and the Bitters and Nelson Gardens brush recycling centers will remain open.

Visitors to downtown on Monday will enjoy free on-street parking on Labor Day. All eight Parks and Recreation pools will remain open from 1 to 7 p.m.

A full list of Labor Day closures can be found atSanAntonio.gov.

Gas Prices

Texans with plans to travel for the holiday weekend can expect cheaper prices at the pump.

Statewide gas prices now average $2.31 for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel. That's cheaper than this past Memorial Day and Labor Day last year. According to AAA Texas, gas prices across the state haven't been this low for the Labor Day weekend since 2016.

Odessa drivers are paying the most on average at $2.57 per gallon, while McAllen is paying the least at $2.09.

San Antonio commuters are seeing an average of $2.27 at the pump — a two cent drop from last week.

Transit

VIA Metropolitan Transit will run on a Sunday schedule on Labor Day.

The “Go Line” customer information number will operate from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and all information centers will be closed.
