Health Surveys Begin In Comal County This Week

Comal County officials want area residents to know that they may get a knock at the door this week from interviewers with the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey.

Comal County is one of 15 nationwide participating in the survey which also includes medical and dental exams. The exams begin this week and the surveys will continue through late April.

Interviewers will be carrying photo ID badges and concerned residents can compare the photo with those provided on the country’s website mycomalcounty.com/nhanes.htm.

If the interviewer will not provide his or her badge, or the photo does not match any of the staff photographs online, end the interview and call police or the sheriff’s office.

Data collected during interviews and exams will be confidential and used to improve the nation’s health and nutritional habits. Information about the survey can be found at cdc.gov/nchs/nhanes.htm
