Former San Antonio Mayors Reflect On Lila Cockrell's Long And Lasting Legacy

Lila Cockrell, the trailblazing former San Antonio mayor and first woman mayor of a major U.S. city, died Thursday, August 29, at age 97.


After serving three terms on the San Antonio City Council and four terms as Mayor, Cockrell led organizations, conservancies and foundations forward on state and local initiatives to influence and improve public life.
