Chronicling Texas' Larger-Than-Life History, Identity

The story of Texas is as vast and diverse as the state itself. Chronicling the state from its beginnings to modern day, Stephen Harringan writes about the triumphs, defeats, controversies and contradictions that molded Texas into the state we know today.

What makes the Lone Star State so unique? What lesser known facts would be surprising, even to Texans?

How can historical literature help us understand America's most controversial state? How has Texas' evolution helped shape the country's identity?

Guest: Stephen Harrigan, author of "Big Wonderful Thing: A History of Texas"
