Arrest Made In Morning Killing Of Kerrville Radio Station Employee

A female employee of The Ranch Radio Group in Kerrville was found dead this morning and a man was arrested in connection to the investigation, Kerr County Sheriff Rusty Hierholzer confirmed in a press release.

Officials say 52-year-old Sherry Ruth Francis was found at about 5:45 this morning by a fellow employee. Investigators believe she was raped and put up a violent struggle.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Gilbert Manriquez at about 7:15 a.m. He was walking along Fredericksburg Highway just north of the station. Manriquez has a criminal history that includes assault and authorities say he confessed to killing the woman.

Manqriquez has no known association with Francis or the radio station. Officials say it appears to have been a random act of violence. Officials plan to charge Manriquez with murder.
