A Philadelphia Phillies fan was refused entry into the ballpark. Why?

A MARTÍNEZ, HOST:

Good morning. I'm A Martínez. A Philadelphia Phillies fan was not allowed in the ballpark this week all because their support animal was not a service dog. Turns out, the Phillies have a rule about that, and the fan's animal happened to be a five-foot long alligator named Wally. I mean, he had it on a leash, what's the problem? Anyways, if the Phillies don't win the World Series, blame it on the curse of Wally the gator. And I wouldn't blame Wally if he cried crocodile tears over it. Although, can an alligator do that? It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
